Cleaning

After the poured ceramic shells have cooled, the spent ceramic shell material is removed from the casting cluster. This is done by mechanical vibration and steel shot, stainless shot or abrasive media cleaning processes. Individual castings are then removed from the cluster by plasma cutting, abrasive cut-off wheels or other suitable means. Remaining excess metal left by gates or runners is removed by belt grinding or other metal processing equipment. The casting is then ready for secondary operations such as heat treating, straightening, machining.

Final casting inspection is done to standards associated with your purchase order and drawings. Inspection varies with customer, materials and application requirements. We work hard to encourage dialogue and all requirements are known before we ever start.
